Generic listicles. Affiliate roundups written by people who’ve never owned a dog. Forums where the loudest commenter wins, even when they’re wrong. And meanwhile I’m over here trying to figure out if Izzy’s second ear infection this year means something, or which litter box is actually going to last longer than three months.
That’s what this site is for.

Plain-language guides — for the real problems pet parents face: anxiety, training, nutrition, safety, enrichment.
Product picks that survive scrutiny — I’d rather recommend nothing than recommend something I wouldn’t buy myself.
Seasonal alerts — Memorial Day BBQ hazards, July 4th fireworks prep, hot-pavement burns, back-to-school separation anxiety. The stuff that catches people off guard every year.

Meet the household — five reasons this site exists
🐾 Izzy — mini-schnauzer. Frighteningly smart. The one who’s already figured out what we’re doing before we know we’re doing it. If something’s changing in the house, Izzy clocked it twenty minutes ago and has already formed an opinion.
🐾 Daisy — also a mini-schnauzer, also a sweetheart. If Izzy’s the genius, Daisy is the happy-go-lucky one — full classic-blonde-with-zero-shame energy. She has feelings about everything and will absolutely tell you about them.
🐾 Miles — Pure Garfield. Chill, unbothered, possibly judging you, definitely thinking about food. He has perfected the art of doing absolutely nothing and making it look dignified.
🐾 Louie — the runt of his litter. Permanently sketchy, permanently skittish, but I’m pretty sure he loves us in his own anxious little way. He’s getting braver. Slowly.
🐾 Tika — all black, with orange-yellow eyes. Stunning, and she knows it. Favorite toy? Empty sacks or boxes. The Kneaders bag never had a chance.
🐾 Harley 💐 — mini-schnauzer, and the original good boy. He set the standard for the whole household. Passed in 2024, and still very much part of this family’s heart.
These five are the daily editorial board. If something I’m about to recommend wouldn’t survive their scrutiny (or their bowls, or their floors, or Tika’s level of disdain), it doesn’t go on the site.
